The night was dark, and the night was cold,
No lamp at my feet, not a soul to hold.
I felt so alone, like no one wanted me,
Everyone was blind, no one could see.
And then it happened, he came along,
Everything perfectly right what was once all so wrong.
He held my hand, he showed me the way,
He told me something without words,
it was something no one could say.
He made me laugh, he made me cry,
He fulfilled my heart, and I never knew why.
We shared our secrets, we shared our dreams,
I found that love is never what it seems.
He was my lover, he was my best friend,
And then our love vanished, something we thought
could never end.
He was ripped away, and we were torn apart,
It destroyed our love, and it broke my heart.
Now we are nothing but a memory, no longer something real,
And all we have left is what we can feel.
So forever I'll remember what we once had,
But never again will I be whole, and forever I'll be sad.
