There's a certain light that shines,
Illuminates,
Rejuvenates.
Our purpose it defines.
It's beam can sometimes grow quite dim,
But Incandescent,
Ever-present,
It still glows from within.
Pain will try to douse the flame,
Subjugate it,
Eradicate it,
But its presence won't be tamed.
I thought I'd lost that light one time;
Then, badly shaken,
It reawakened,
Its re-emergence was sublime.
It's absence tears your life apart,
So... resolutely
And absolutely,
Keep love in your heart.
