Exhibit Information Exhibit 2000A National Showcase of Exceptional Paintings in Oil and Acrylic held at Columbia College Lake Campus, Osage Beach, Missouri. Participation:Exhibit 2000 is open to all artists doing original paintings in either oil or acrylic on a rigid support that does not require glass or plexiglass to protect the surface. PAINTINGS FRAMED WITH GLASS OR PLEXIGLASS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Size of Paintings:36" x 48", including frame, is the maximum size that will be accepted. Slide Submission:Each artist may submit up to three paintings for consideration. Only works of your own original concept, design, and individual effort are eligible. PAINTINGS MUST HAVE BEEN DONE WITHIN THE LAST TWO YEARS AND NOT PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED FOR NOAPS EXHIBITS. Send one 35mm slide of each painting to be considered. PLEASE, NO GLASS OR METAL SLIDES, AND NO LABELS OR TAPE ON SLIDE MOUNTS. Submit only high quality slides which are tightly focused on the image and SHOW NO FRAME OR BACKGROUND. Slides are assumed to be accurate representations of actual works. NOAPS will exercise the right to reject any work not accurately represented by the slide. Please indicate "TOP" in the upper right-hand corner. Information on the slide and the entry form must be consistent. Fee:Up to three entries may be submitted for a fee of $25 for non-members, and no fee for members. Fee is non-refundable.
Method of Selection:A new jury panel is assembled each year. This panel is composed of artists, art academicians, and art collectors. Slides are viewed independently and must receive a majority vote for inclusion. Shipping:United Parcel Service (UPS) is the best carrier used by NOAPS for the annual exhibit. PAINTINGS SHIPPED BY ANY OTHER CARRIER WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ARTIST, THIS INCLUDES ALL CHARGES AND MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR DELIVERY AND PICK-UP OF THE WORK. The maximum package size that UPS accepts is 130" length plus girth. (A 30" x 40" painting with a 2" frame, tightly boxed will barely get under the maximum limit.) NOAPS WILL NOT PAY FOR RETURN SHIPPING. Artist is responsible for return shipping arrangements. Liability:NOAPS and hosting facilities will exercise all reasonable care with accepted art and submitted slides, but it is clearly understood by the artists that NOAPS and hosting facilities and organizations assume no responsibility and shall not be held responsible for any damage of any kind caused or occurring while work is in exhibition or during shipping. Photography Rights:NOAPS reserves the right to photograph all paintings accepted for the exhibit regardless of copyright. Photos or slides will be used for publicity and educational purposes only. Slides of accepted works will be retained by NOAPS for the permanent slide file. Awards and Sales:Exhibit 2000 awards will total over $5000 in value. The winners will be selected from the actual works by Awards Judge, Frank Sisser. The awards will be presented to the winning artists at the opening reception, August 27, 2000. All work must be for sale:Sales are encouraged to further the efforts of the artists and to stimulate acquisition of original art by patrons and businesses. Artists price their own work, and these prices should be representative of established market value for the artist's work. The prices, as stated on the application, may not be changed during the entire run of the show. NOAPS accepts, as a donation, 20% of sales directly attributed to the exhibit.
