RHODES-FARLEY WEDDING
        The Procession

As part of the "Prince and Princess Wedding" package, TRF provided a dressing room for Heather and her attendants near the Main Gate. There they could prepare for the ceremony in reasonable comfort, with both a bathroom and air conditioning immediately available. Around 1:25pm, the bride and her ladies boarded a horse-drawn carriage -- the same Royal Carriage which King Henry and his Queen used during the Noon Parade and other Royal functions at TRF -- to ride in procession to The Chapel for the wedding. (Photo, below: Reverend Jones and "Cardinal" Holtje lead the wedding procession, accompanied by pipers, a drummer and members of the festival cast, across the faire grounds to The Chapel. Note: this photo is an example of a typical wedding procession at TRF. It was taken earlier the same day as the Rhodes-Farley wedding, but does not depict Heather's actual procession. Ryleh was at The Chapel at that time, awaiting the arrival of the bride!).

Making the turn at the King's Carousel, the wedding procession approaches The Chapel, with the pipers and Reverend Jones in the lead (Photo, left). Usually, the carriage is left open but by early afternoon that day the weather had turned cloudy and threatening, prompting the raising of the canvas top. IMHO, it appeared far more elegant -- truly, a Royal carriage befitting a modern Cinderella! -- with the top up.

The Master of Ceremonies at The Chapel not only directed placement of the Honor Guard but also helped the bride and her ladies descend from the carriage with great dignity. (Photo, right: Bridesmaids Pamela Harris, left, and Elaine Brokaw, right, are shown just after leaving the carriage. Lady Pamela seems to be inspecting her basket of wedding favors while behind her the Master of Ceremonies steps up to assist bride-to-be Heather make her entrance gracefully.). Then, while the MoC organized the actual procession to the altar, the bride paused for a brief photo opportunity as several ladies of the wedding party approached to assist her (Photo, below).
