Why has it been so long?

Why has it been so long since I've written you?
Why have I ignored you and not shown you how I care?
When I think about it, my heart begins to tear.
Why must I continue to do what I do,
Why can't I do something new?
Like telling you that someone like you is so rare
Because you are sweet and oh so fare.

You wrote me so I will write you too.
And hope that it makes up to you for what I've done
And hope that it shows how much love for you I carry.
I am so glad that for my letter you were willing to tarry.
Because life without you would be like life without a sun.
Beck I hope that you accept this apology
And realize that I am truly sorry.
