in depth look at poem: This poem was actually inspired by a soap opera that I was watching
with my sister. I saw how much pain the characters caused each other and I realized how we,
as the Body of Christ have been fighting and arguing too much..that we need to become a
unified body so we can show a dying world how much we care.
meanwhile the world keeps on turning
We keep fighting among ourselves,
creating division within each of us.
We keep arguing the finer points of
faith and about difference in philosophy...
meanwhile the world keeps on turning.
people keep on sinning.
people keep on feeling pain.
yet, we never show them how much we care
because we’re too consumed in ourselves.
We keep fighting about small differences
within the interpretations of scripture.
We keep arguing with other people
about what they belief, never show them God’s truth.
meanwhile the world keeps on turning.
people keep on sinning.
people keep on feeling pain.
yet, we never help them in any way
because we’re too consumed in ourselves.
