in depth look at poem: This poem is a poem about the loss of moral standards in our country. It is also about how we, as christians, helped in the destruction of the morality by saying nothing. We need to stand up for what is right. Not just forget about it. (That is what we did before...and now the problem has taken the country over)
but now
you see your son tell a lie
you forget about it
it's not like he's killing someone
but now it grows to enormous heights
you see a little corruption in the government
you forget about it
it's not like they legalized murder
but now it grows to enormous heights
you see a little gossip in the church
you forget about it
it's not like they live to destroy
but now it grows to enormous heights
you see a little sex on T.V.
you forget about it
it's not like that is the whole show
but now it grows to enormous heights
you hear a little evil in your music
you forget about it
it's not like they're inhabited by demons
but now it grows to enormous heights
