Loch Ness, Scotland

Is the monster real, or is it fake? Many believe it is fake after a recent confession to the faking of the famous 'Nessie' photo. However, myth and controversy still surround these deep, dark waters and only one question remains...would you want to go for a swim here?

Killiecrankie, Scotland

This old battle site is one to avoid...it has several spectres that are rumoured to haunt the area...all of which aeem to portent a terrible death soon after they are seen...

The Ring of Brodgar, The Okney Isles

This henge monument originally consisted of sixty stones. Nearly half of these still stand in a circle of 100m in diameter. Believed to have religious significance, nobody has been able to explain why this circle of stones was erected and in such a precise way!

The City Wall, Conwy, North Wales

When constructing the coastal railway line to Bangor, North Wales a slight problem was encountered...the city wall. An easy answer to this was to create a new gateway for trains to pass through!

Plynlimon, Wales

This mountain is reported to be the site of a corpse candle, or will'o the wisp. A man was supposedly stuck down here, but this does seem unlikely, as it was a wet and windy night. corpse candles are created by accumilation of methane gas and this would not have been possible in these conditions.

The Ogwen Valley, North Wales

The mountain, Tryfan, stands 3010 feet above sea-level. At the summit are two stones called Adam and Eve and it is possible to jump from one to the other. However when doing so, beware of the ghostly breeze that blows around this valley, for it is said to herald the coming of a phantom bear...to see this mystical creature is an omen of death...

Freston Tower, Suffolk

This tower is a novelty...built in the sixteenth century as a school, it has six storeys of classrooms...one for each day of the school week!

The Borley Rectory, Essex

Possibly the most famous and most haunted place in England, the rectory was demolished in 1944...(It had 12 ghosts). The hauntings are said to have moved to the nearly church at Borley, where ghostly music can sometimes still be heard!

The Grotto of Goldney House, Bristol

Built in 1737 and once called the 'largest and most beautiful' grotto 'in the world', things are not as lovely as they seem here, for reports of supernatural beings that haunt thi splace give it a rather sinister feel!

Bluebell Hill, Kent

In November 1965, on Bluebell Hill a car crash left three girls dead. One of these was due to be married the following day and her ghost is said to haunt the road. She is supposed to flag down passing cars, get in and chat to the drivers about her imminent wedding and then vanish. There are also rumours of a second ghost on this same road...

Wookey Hole, Somerset

These natural caves are the home to many weird tales of witches and mythical beasts. The recovery of human skulls sparked many a story of evil lurking underground...

The Jeruselem Inn, Nottinghamshire

Reputed to be oldest inn in England!
