What Silence is Fool's Gold is all about

"Better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

This is the quote that came to mind when I was working on a title for my website. I don't agree with it. The only way to get your point across is to stop worrying about your image and speak your mind. I usually don't have a problem with this. I make a fool of myself on a regular basis, but my original concept for this website was much different from what you see now. I had originally planned to keep Christianity on the fringe of the issues. I had planned to talk about things from religiously neutral ground, to bring in Christ gradually, after I had built a readership. This didn't work; I couldn't write and keep God out of it. He is the central point of my life and without that center my writing fell flat. After all, Jesus said...

Matthew 5:13-16

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

After I came to the realization that I needed to include God in my writing, I realized that taking a stand would offend some people. I can live with that. Offending people doesn't bother me, not when I'm saying something I believe. I know that if I speak my mind on homosexuality and that it's wrong (Leviticus 20:13), I will come under a lot of fire. If I say I think children (let's put children as anyone under 18) shouldn't be allowed to wear whatever they want, 14 year old girls should not be wearing daisy dukes and midriff-revealing shirts, and guys of the same age should not have green hair and wear shirts that promote drug use, I know I will receive E-mail telling me in poor grammar that I am wrong. I'm not worried about people disagreeing with me. After all, Jesus said...

Luke 12: 51

"Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."

He knew what he was talking about. His views were strong and went against the grain; they still are and do. What he said was bound to cause disagreement and to split people apart, but the words that he spoke were the truth. The truth needs to be told, especially important truths like the ones in the Bible. This site is the world from my perspective and God is the one showing the world to me. I will promote Christianity in my essays without shame.

Matt 10: 32-33

"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will acknowledge him before my Father in heaven."
