WET 44: Curious Georgette

Another interesting collection of images! This time I made everything except the soldier girl into balloons! I gave the image this name because it reminds me of a famous zoo scene in one of H.A. Rey's books. :) I'm finally back at the computer after missing out for a while because of illness. This week's image was a rather quick one because of that.

I enlarged the canvas of each individual image to make a square, then placed some mirrored and rotated copies of that same image in the square. Then I blurred each image. Then I made a copy and pasted it as a new layer, merging at 50 per cent "normal." I then used the circle deformation on each one. (No color adjustments at all this week!)

I made a new large image and placed "Georgette" near the bottom. On a new layer, I pasted copies of the various "balloons" till I liked the effect. I drew "strings" from her hand to the balloons (next time I'll use the line tool to make taut, straight strings).

For the background, I made a blue layer, then spray painted with dark green texture to make the ground. I also drew branches in, then merged this with the blue layer. Then I sent this whole thing to the back of the image.

I saved the whole thing as a .psp file, then made a merged copy and saved the copy as a .jpg for the web.

Everything on this page was done in Paint Shop Pro 5, using only the original filters and functions supplied with the program.
