A   DESERT   SHOWER

By:   Xrtsys

Desert;
Dry, dusty,
Sand and sun, rolling hills,
Burning ember, blowing wind,
Lifeless land, land of sin.

Fleeting shadows, lifeless sky,
Darkness broiling when sun high,
Thunder flashing, rain begins,
Storm blowing, hailing, tornados spin.

Water flowing, carving land,
Gullies, gushers, nature's hand,
Carry mud through canyons new,
To feed the thirsting ocean's due.

Where yellow sun rears its head,
Greenness blooms, life's homestead,
Where raindrops fall, a sprouting seed,
A race to spread, fullfill its need.

The raining stops, the clouds depart,
Across the space, beyond the chart,
The blowing wind scorches yet,
The sun places the final bet.

The clouds, the rain, fleeting memories,
The dust reagins its premises,
From green to brown to yellow heat,
Life's firm hold in retreat.

The earth moves on, its treatise met,
The dust reclaims what persists yet,
The clouds to find a new homestead,
Life journeys on, from darkness bred.
