Steel was a minor player in "Kingdom Come," but it was interesting because he became a follower of Batman (rather than Superman as he was) and changed his armor accordingly. I thought it was an interesting variation on his regular armor. I used a Superman: Man of Steel line Steel figure. First I sanded off his ears and the "S" symbol on his chest. I then added long Batman-like ears made from two toothpicks. The bat symbol on his chest was cut from the plastic shell of an action figure package using a pattern I drew on a computer. After I glued it on, I got some very small model railroad rivets from the hobby store and added them. I had to drill an individual hole for each one, as they are on a stem that sticks into whatever you are adding them to. I used a tool called a pinvice, which is like a small hand drill you turn manually. I also cut the cuff "wings" from shell plastic. The weapon, his bat-symbol shaped battle ax, was made from the shaft of the Steel hammer accessory and one of the ends from the B:TAS Hoverjet Batman weapon accessory. I painted it with chrome automotive paint. Last, I painted the original cape with Humbrol flat black and the figure with Model Master gloss metallic graphite (which is really almost black).
