GOD CAN!

Idea of the Season (from the Circle of Spiritual Women Webring)

Take a large can with a lid, or a clean, empty round oatmeal canister and decorate it as you wish. When you are having difficulties with something on your own, write it down on a piece of paper, and put it in your God can - because if you can't handle it, God Can!

Quote of the Season, Kurt Vonnegut Jr.:
"The primary benefit of practicing any art, whether well or badly, is that it enables one's soul to grow."

  1. Site of the Season ! Woman Made Gallery
"[A]rt produced by women [sh]ould be exhibited, collected and written about as abundantly as art produced by men.... Woman Made Gallery focuses energy in these three areas by exhibiting art made by and about women, educating the public about women's art, and advocating for the equal treatment of women's accomplishments. As an alternative to the mainstream art world, this gallery creates a community where the artistic values and criteria are determined by women, for women."

  2. Fun Site: Cake or Death? An Eddie Izzard Site. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a BIG fan of Eddie Izzard. I was lucky enough to see him on stage in "Circle" (his one man show at the Town Hall) back in June 2000. Cake or Death? is my favorite fansite - it has wonderful info and links and interactive things. You can't look at Eddie and guess what his humor is like you have to hear or read his stuff to understand how funny he is. Smart humor! Derrick and I watch his tapes a lot!

  3. Interestingly Funny Site: Will Hertes Letters
Yahoo says, "Meet Will Hertes, an inebriated hermit with a penchant for writing prank letters to multinational conglomerates. Will ain’t much to look at, but this kid can scribble! Tune in and witness a man’s real–life struggle with the demons in his head."

  4. Artistic Site: The Carving Consortium
I'm a member of this online artists group of "eraser carvers". Printmaking for everyone! Come and see the kinds of work we do. "The Carving Consortium is an international group of eraser carvers who are focused on sharing information about the art of eraser carving and the creative process." Members of the Carving Consortium represent the full spectrum, from beginner to the advanced eraser carver.

  5. Email Greeting Card Site: Baha'i Greeting Cards courtesy of the Baha'i Community of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Send one of these beautiful electronic postcards absolutely FREE! There are some wonderful photos and graphics to choose from and there are quotes from the writings that you can choose from too, lots of options!

  6. Resource Site: Dave Kennedy's Songwriting and Recording Website
A site full of interesting articles about guess what? -- songwriting and recording.
