JUMP OVERCALL
- The first two, cheapest, jump overcalls, show two suited hands, the suit bid and the next higher suit.
- Other jump overcalls in suit (alert) are INTERMEDIATE (alert), with a 6-card(+) suit and 15+ HCP, except 2S over 1C is weak.
- Here are the specific examples, with the expected holding:
- Over 1C
- 2D = 5+ diamonds and 4+ hearts (alert)
- 2H = 5+ hearts and 4+ spades (alert)
- 2S = 6 spades, weak
- 3D = INTERMEDIATE (alert)
- 3H = INTERMEDIATE (alert)
- 3S = INTERMEDIATE (alert)

- 2H = 5+ hearts and 4+ spades (alert)

OPENING PREEMPTS
Opening preempts are Sound. Vulnerable minor suit preempts invite 3NT. Responses in a major suit are forcing. Responses in a minor suit are not forcing.

Double is Takeout Through 4H.
