I woke up this morning with a whiskey bottle by my side
There was a time I could shake the pain, now it’s a little harder to hide
So, I took a long hard look at my life and it made me realize

I’ve been fooling myself praying for the rain
From the clouds that hide my shame
To open up and wash away my pain
I need some changes in my life
This time I’m gonna do it right
Life ain’t as easy as it seems
When you’re living on yesterday’s dreams

Behind the mask lives another man afraid to show his face
Maybe one day he’ll be brave enough to take the others place
If he could just shake the fear of failing again then maybe he’d appear
Does he still exist? I haven’t seen his face in more than ten years

I’ve been fooling myself praying for the rain
From the clouds that hide my shame
To open up and wash away my pain
I need some changes in my life
This time I’m gonna do it right
Life ain’t as easy as it seems
When you’re living on yesterday’s dreams

I woke up this morning with my conscious by my side
It was a part of me I hadn't seen in a while and it opened up my eyes
Outside the rain had fallen and the air was new again
I took a long hard look in the mirror and in myself I found a friend
