Angels Are Close

I have a hunger
too deep for food
to touch
or
buying and selling
or
getting one more
thing done.
I have a thirst
too deep for wine
to touch
or
praised and praising
or
any entertainment
from other's minds.
I have a longing
too deep for sharing
to touch
or
coming and going
of
friends and
lovers.
I have a secret
too precious to keep.
Angels are close
to touch
and fill all the
hunger
thirst
and
longing.

Behold, Neshamah!
Awake and
welcome
them.

Neshamah means one who listens to what is holy. I am a Special Education teacher who has just begun to seriously listen and write what I hear from my inner self
