The Wings of an Angel

Angel of the Night

by danette m. wiegel

From deep within the darkest brush lay a soul at his weakest point in life, his clothes are tore, his body cold, he has just lost his wife. A broken heart has taken all away from his everything, and just when he has given up hope, from the sky he sees something. A tiny light is floating down and helps him to his feet, and places up upon his head her hand and speaks "defeat". Tis his dismay does he see an angel resembling his wife, "my love" she speaks "I am your strength to guide you through your life", "I had to go, it was my time, but I am still here with you, to help you and to guide you, in everything you do", with this in mind the man just smiled and brushed away the dirt, dried his eyes, and washed his hands and replaced his tore up shirt. He took a deep breath and spoke not a word as he smiled to this sight, and walked away tucked by his side, with this tiny little light.
