Courtney; the most amazing person ever.

Courtney

Ah. About myself. I hesitate to say very much because this is, as you may already have noticed, the internet. I live in NJ, close to New York City, where I am hoping to move next year with the infamous Lindsay. (Click there to visit her website) Well, I have been playing electric bass for 56 years; I play a 1971 Hofner Beatle bass with my friend Liz, (see the links page to visit her rockin' poetry site), who plays a wicked lead guitar. I am insanely interested in poetry, (which I recently got published in this anthology thing, plus I had a few of my own readings... I should be doing one this summer, so I'll keep you all posted); my all-time fave groups are... the Beatles, (ask me ANYTHING about them, I promise I can answer any question), the Beastie Boys, U2, the Smashing Pumpkins, Queen, um, the Beastie Boys, Cream; genres include classic rock, alternative, hip hop, soul, funk music, classical, Irish music, (Thanks dad for making me appreciate the ancestral roots); on hip hop... I swore I'd never like it, now look at me with this whole web site...

Courtney's Ultimate Band List

in no particular order...
Beatles, Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Queen, Cream, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, ELO, Portishead, Soundgarden, Jimi Hendrix, A Tribe Called Quest, Lauryn Hill, Richie Havens!, Simon & Garfunkle, some old Aerosmith to remember my childhood... (just kidding), R.E.M., Fatboy Slim, Mixmaster Mike, Bjork, the Kinks, Crosby Stills and Nash, Prodigy, Led Zeppelin, The Roots, some (emphasis on some) Kiss, The Who, Live, David Bowie, Garbage, Blur, Pulp, Biz Markie, Beck, Live, Iggy Pop, The Verve, Lee "Scratch" Perry, James Iha,

My Ultimate Musical Icons:

George Harrison, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo? Don't think so... Brian May, Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, Adam Yauch, Billy Corgan, Freddie Mercury, Jeff Lynne, Richie Havens; and I just want to be D'arcy cause she's just so cool. Although on my own, I can probably do better...

OK, I think this is good for now; and back to wonderful me... erm, whatever..

disco (inferno, that's for Lindsay), skiing, snowboarding, rollerblading, (look for me in Central Park on Sundays doing trix)... hey, is this a run-on sentence yet? So many other things... my birthday is September 9th, and why you would want to know this is beyond me, but knowing is half the battle. And, in case you can't tell from the pictures, I have light auburn hair that's over 2.7 ft. long, which is my pride and joy, and blue eyes. (Again, why you'd like to know is beyond me... but there it is.)

I'm into other things too, like speaking French, and traveling... London calls me pretty often, or when British Airways has a good rate. Let's see... what else? Since we're on the topic, I love to read classic stuff, like Jane Austen, Shakespeare, Emily Bronte, William Butler Yeats, etc. Also, Conan O'Brien is my favorite show on TV. I've been to a few tapings and I have met him.... ahhhhhh... plus, I have an extensive video collection of his greatest shows. Crazed? Maybe. Having fun? Oh, yes. And I must say, that there is nothing better than watching a Monty Python movie, ("The Meaning of Life!"), or Fawlty Towers, or even Peter Sellers, (I must recommend "The Return of the Pink Panther"), or, of course, Saturday Night Live. Oh, and how could I forget my means of getting through high school, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Those were the days.

Why is Adam Yauch Simply Scintillating?

Glad you asked. First of all, he is my ideal man. Let's forget the previous passions for George Harrison, Eric Cantona, Christian Bale, Bono, Conan O'Brien, Brad Pitt... (what was up with that one I would love to know) the list goes on. I could name the similarities, but I don't want to sound overly obsessive, although isn't that the point of this site? Basically, I love what he has done, his music, his talent, his sense of humor, even how he looks as Bill Swenson. He and I are both only children; we both play and love the bass, love to ski/snowboard, the list goes on. I'm getting a little frustrated with this... more later.
