MY FRIENDS ON THE NET

A "PHOTO" ALBUM

Friends. What is the Internet without "friends"? In the short time that I've been "caught in the Net", I've made some wonderful friends. Some have become closer to me than others, but ALL are friends. In this particular section of "Caught in the Net", I will be displaying photos of my friends, and relating how we met. These photos have been re-printed with the permission of my friends (thanks, guys!).

Come. Meet my friends....

Denise, Eric, and the rest of the Andresen Family

Well, let's see....Denise Andresen..... To begin with, almost anyone who has WEBTV probably is familiar with the Andresens. For me, my familiarity is with Denise. I met Denise in late January of this year (1997). I wanted to put music on my homepage, but couldn't figure out how to do it. I had gone to the different HTML sites, trying the different tags; and I had asked my friends, Scott and Lou, but neither could help me. I had accidentally run across the Andresen homepage (which at that time looked NOTHING like it does now).

While reading their homepage, a thought occurred to me that perhaps they could help me. So, I wrote them. A day or so later, I received a very nice reply from Denise. Her explanation of BGSOUND, how to use it, and an example of its use were great! I was then able to install music on my site.

A couple of weeks passed, and again, I needed Denise's assistance. The File Manager and page editor had literally made it impossible for WEBTV people to edit their pages. Not knowing what to do, (this was BEFORE I met Linda), I wrote Denise and asked for some suggestions. Again, a very nice reply came back stating that they had some other sites that were having the same problem, and that all we could do was wait. When I received a reply from Linda stating that she would look into the matter, I relayed that information to Denise. Denise was very appreciative, and periodically checked on me until everything had cleared up.

I hadn't heard from Denise until April, when I e-mailed her to ask her for her permission to use her name and her site in the May column of "Soose". This is a practice which I have ALWAYS followed: checking with the person involved FIRST before doing anything. Since it had been a while since we last communicated, I wasn't sure if Denise would remember me or the "Soose" site--and I stated this in my e-mail to her. A reply came back stating that she NEVER missed a "Soose" column, and that she would LOVE to be a guest! Of course, I was excited, and it became one of the more popular columns to date. It seems that everyone wanted to see what happened when Denise Andresen got "kidnapped"!

I suppose that now you're wondering how Denise liked being "kidnapped". Well, I received an e-mail from her after the May column was posted. She LOVED it! In fact, every now and then, I will hear from her, and she will make a comment about the "kidnapping" in jest. I guess she HAD to have a wonderful sense of humor in order to let me lampoon her the way I did. She took the lampoon marvelously!

Its been a while since I've heard from Denise. She is undoubtedly very busy with all the sites that the whole Andresen Family has. When I asked for permission to use a photo of her in this section, again, she obliged me.

THANKS, DENISE!
