MY FRIENDS ON THE NET

A "PHOTO" ALBUM

Friends. What is the Internet without "friends"? In the short time that I've been "caught in the Net", I've made some wonderful friends. Some have become closer to me than others, but ALL are friends. In this particular section of "Caught in the Net", I will be displaying photos of my friends, and relating how we met. These photos have been re-printed with the permission of my friends (thanks, guys!).

Come. Meet my friends....

My friendship with Jamie began with a "fan letter" from him in February of this year (1997). He had read the February column on the "Soose" site, and wrote me to tell me how much he had enjoyed it. His letter came during the "GeoCities Editor Mess", when the File Manager and the page editors would not allow WEBTV people to edit their homepages. So, naturally, his letter also contained his concern with the problem.

I answered his e-mail, thanking him for the kind words regarding the column, and that I, too, was concerned about the editor problem. It wasn't long before another e-mail arrived. I answered that one. Soon, we had a conversation going through the e-mail.

This went on for quite some time that night. Then I didn't hear from him again until March, when again I received another "fan letter" from him. THIS time, he not only complimented the March column, but thought that "Agent Hugo" (a fictional character that was introduced in that column) was "neat". Its funny, but at the time I invented "Hugo", I honestly didn't think much of the character, and figured that he would just be in that one column. But, he has become quite popular, and has been in most of the other columns since. Every month that he has appeared, I have ALWAYS received SOMETHING (all GOOD, too!) about him either in the guestbook, or through the e-mail. So, Jamie must've known SOMETHING that I didn't when he praised "Hugo".

Since those first e-mails, Jamie and I have become good friends. He always includes The World of Soose in his newsletter, and I've got him as a guest in my August column (as "Hugo's" nephew!). And when I had trouble with my "Soose" newsletter (which caused me to discontinue it), Jamie was right there to give me moral support and cheer me up. Yes, I'd have to say that Jamie is my number one "fan" (as far as "Soose" is concerned), AND a VERY good friend!

THANKS JAMIE!
