Friends. What is the Internet without "friends"? In the short time that I've been "caught in the Net", I've made some wonderful friends. Some have become closer to me than others, but ALL are friends. In this particular section of "Caught in the Net", I will be displaying photos of my friends, and relating how we met. These photos have been re-printed with the permission of my friends (thanks, guys!).
Come. Meet my friends....
I met Scott shortly after meeting Lou (December, 1996)--again, in one of those chat forums that I mentioned on the main page of this site. So that makes Scott my SECOND friend and tutor that I met on the Net. Yes, Scott ended up tutoring me, also. He was also VERY patient with me and my questions. And he also answered my questions to the best of his ability.
Of course, he also already had a homepage on the Net (which unfortunately was discontinued a few months ago). Then in February of this year (1997), Scott started a mail list for WEBTV users. I was one of his first subscribers. It wasn't long after that, that his homepage disappeared. I never REALLY knew why, but was saddened to see it go. His homepage was one of the first and original links listed on my site. When it ceased to exist, I replaced it with his wife's (Melissa) homepage (just to keep it in the family).
I didn't know Melissa until about March of this year (1997). I knew OF her, but had not communicated with her until then. Our e-mails back and forth have mainly been in support of each other's efforts in homepage building. I have also lended my moral support to her when things have sometimes gotten out of hand with the mail list.
Unfortunately, I eventually had to unsubscribe from the mail list, as time and projects have prevented me from enjoying it. And outside of knowing that he has the mail list, I never hear from Scott anymore. Occasionally, I do hear from Melissa. But it isn't very often. However, they are still good friends, and DEFINITELY deserve to be in this section of "Caught in the Net", as both have had a big influence on my "Net life".
