MY FRIENDS ON THE NET

A "PHOTO" ALBUM

Friends. What is the Internet without "friends"? In the short time that I've been "caught in the Net", I've made some wonderful friends. Some have become closer to me than others, but ALL are friends. In this particular section of "Caught in the Net", I will be displaying photos of my friends, and relating how we met. These photos have been re-printed with the permission of my friends (thanks, guys!).

Come. Meet my friends....

This is Susan, my other "bestest" friend on the Net. Like me, Susan is a WEBTV person. And that's how I met Susan--through having WEBTV. Believe it, or not, I met Susan 3 days after meeting Linda in February (1997)! Susan had seen my homepage listed in someone's list of links, and had visited my homepage (it wasn't a SITE, yet). Although I didn't think my homepage was THAT good, (Linda had just started downloading/uploading stuff into my directory for me), Susan was VERY impressed with it. She had started her own homepage, but wasn't very happy with it, and e-mailed a plea to me for help in improving it. Thus, began our friendship.

In her e-mail to me, Susan admitted that she didn't know very much about building and maintaining a webpage. AND at THAT time, her homepage resided on Angelfire, not GeoCities (where it is now). But that didn't matter to me. I agreed to help her not only because she asked, but because she was a fellow WEBTV person AND I could see potential in her homepage (it was VERY humorous!). So, our friendship began with me being her "tutor", and she being my "pupil".

Every night, we would e-mail each other for hours regarding all sorts of topics. Of course, one of the main topics was "homepage building". Being a WEBTV person, she, like me, was not able to download or upload anything as PC users are able to do. After Susan moved to GeoCities, I introduced her to Linda, who agreed to help her in the downloading and uploading of graphics and music for her homepage.

I must say that Susan and I hit it off right away. Her sense of humor hooked me, as it was (and still IS) unique and VERY entertaining! She would (and still DOES) keep me in stitches with her funny e-mails! She has a wonderful sense of humor!

Although we don't spend as much time e-mailing each other like we use to, we STILL communicate daily, regarding just about anything and everything, and of course, "SITE building". And since I've gotten a computer of my own, I often do Susan's downloading/uploading for her, which gives Linda a bit of a break. Yes, I consider Susan one of my "bestest" buddies on the Net.

Perhaps one of these days Susan and I will meet in person. I hope so. I'd love to meet that zany gal!

THANKS SUSAN!
