puppies
Oh jeez! I just made an entry and lost it! I hate repeating myself.
This has been the month of puppies. We got a 3 month old mini bitch last week. Drove up near Wisconsin to get her. She is a red one and makes quite a contrast with Nikki, our beautiful black. She is Forrest's dog and he named her Yetty because she has big feet. Nikki was very depressed for a few days. Has never had to share her yard, her house or her people with another dog. The joy went right out of her step. I see it occasionally now but not like it used to be. She is jealous too, of course. I give her a lot of touching and attention and hope that will eventually make it okay. I think she is beginning to like having another dog to play with too.
Nikki has been sick. Had a procedure at the animal hospital to have an endoscopy and trachea scraping done. They found a couple of organisms that are the culprits and prescribed a specific antibiotic. But she won't take it. The pill is too large. We'll have to call the vet Tuesday to see if she can take another smaller one. It has been hard for me to watch her being sick and I couldn't sleep the night before her procedure. It was very hard on her emotionally. I have never seen her so upset! Took her days to get over it.
I'm taking another on-line class. Writing about mother. It depresses me but is good to do. My writing is changing, for the better, I hope. Not so pessimistic. More hopeful. My instructor is a good teacher. But that's not all. He is a very spiritual man and I need his kind of influence in my life. I have taken two other classes with him and he is the best!
Well, I am tired. This has really been an uneventful month, other than the stuff with the dogs. Had two straight weeks of rain and gray skies even longer. Now it is hot again. But September starts tomorrow. I can't believe it! Well, summer came and went and I have hardly moved!
