I have a very small window And yet it shows me the world Thousands of people are crowding outside it And I can see their tracks. Some of them are dressed in colorful clothes Some are very fuzzy Some of them cry out loudly Some say nothing Some of them show their faces Some just try to hide behind animated pictures I try to figure them out Try to see who they are Try to learn about their minds But I will never know for sure Those who say they are my friends Are they? |

Those who say they like me Do they? If I think I like them Is it really them? Or is it just my own inner likeness I find? Is it perhaps just myself in the reflection of the glass? We sometimes talk about this and that Say hello, and how are you? Talk about weather and work About love, marriage and divorce Say see ya! and good-bye! Then I close my window Let it rest black through the night while I sleep Let it reflect the daylight while I work It’s a wonderful window With promises and opportunities And this I know for sure
