Actually, nothing is fucked up about the internet - nothing inherent in the net itself, that is. What's fucked up is some of the PEOPLE on the net and all the STUPID, AWKWARD and just plain IRRITATING things they do. Here's my list:

1. Fuckin' retards who can't spell
There is no excuse for this. If you're thinking that, "well, it's understandable considering the state of public education," think again. Anyone on the net is using a COMPUTER, and computers have SPELL-CHECKERS which can tell these illiterates where they've messed up. If they don't use their spell-checkers, well, it does prove my point, doesn't it? They're RETARDED!

Consider also that all HTML pages are really computer programs and most of them have links, all of which requires absolute PERFECTION in spelling. If their page works, they must have spelled it right. So how come they spell things so stupidly in the text parts? Because they are LAZY, SLOPPY and CARELESS!!!

Typos are always forgivable; being a DUMB-ASS never is.

Which brings me to ...

2. Fucked up links
Why do people fuck up their own links, and then LEAVE them that way? It is only because they don't check the link after they type it in. If they tried to follow it, to check it, they'd see that it didn't work and (one can hope) do the necessary thing to fix it. But NOOOOOOOOOO!! They have to leave the stupid thing up to frustrate surfers and embarrass themselves!

It's bad enough when you fuck up a link to another site, but I've been on sites where the owner fucked up links to HIS OWN pages LOTS of times. Again, inexcusable sloth. At least the only one it really hurts is them. Still, it's annoying as hell.

3. Unreadable pages
You know the kind I'm talking about. The background is in black, let's say, and the text is in some other dim color like red, blue or purple. The result is that YOU CAN'T READ THE FUCKING PAGE!!!! GOD, what were these assholes thinking? Did they want to force everyone to highlight their pages? If so, on black the highlighting comes out with a white background, so why not make it white in the first place? Because they're IDIOTS, that's why!!

You'll notice that my pages use black for a background, but the text is white and the links are LIGHT blue and LIGHT yellow. This makes it possible to actually read my pages. A dark background with bright text works better because the bright parts of the page blot out the dark parts, so it's best to have the important parts (text) lighter than the unimportant parts (background). For this reason I also don't like white webpages, unless the text is all in boldface, but I can at least understand that: people want their electronic pages to look like paper pages. I just highlight it and it's okay.

To be fair, I should mention that I am legally blind and cannot see low contrast well - or sometimes at all. Still, anyone with the sense enough to make his pages user-friendly would make his text contrast prominently with his backgrounds.
