I note also that the "noise" tracks seem to be an audio equivalent of those "Magic Eye" pictures...look at them right and you see a 3D image. The noise does the same...listen carefully and you get a 3D "shape" inside yer head. Or maybe that's just my demented imagination... I also notice some familiar sounds. Star Trek TNG, and some suspiciously Thing-like music...no surprise you'd put THAT in there! More feedback as I hear more..

ENDICHE VIS.SAT.....
Her Closed Eyes (Her Closed Eyes)
A Xeroxed Manga sleeve contains the latest from this Lithuanian band who play chaotic industrial noise, crowded by looped chants and pieces of music, with prehistoric videogame beeps and insane no- wave feelings here and there. Sometimes a Kosmische organ crescendos, or looped arpeggios peep in, to give it all that definitive hypnotic touch, too. Pretty weird, indeed.

DOGGED FOR SYMPATHY
HANDGLOVE (THE WORLD WASN'T MADE FOR STREETWALKERS)
There's an old saying that home-recorded music is only as good as the vocals. That's certainly true here. The instrumental bits rule: ambient techno soundscapes with booty-friendly grooves, great samples and synth sounds, and an intriguingly moody overall vibe. But when the singer dude comes on, there's no escaping his hideousness. The vocals are mixed so far forward that no amount of Dolby or EQ can pull them back to a listenable level. And the guy's voice! And the lyrics... yeesh. DFS would be better off sticking to instrumentals, or at least having the good taste to bury the vocals. The music is excellent, fitting in quite easily with a more abstract tract of industrial dance music. I could see this stuff being played on industrial nights at any club in the world. The instrumental bits, I mean. My subwoofer loves it!

DOGGED FOR SYMPATHY VS. ATMOSPHEH-RHYCXX
SPAWNED FROM APATHY
ADA
This is apparently a remix of ATMOSPHEH-RHYCXX stuff by DOGGED FOR SYMPATHY. Or something. Both do "electronic/experimental/techno/ambient/noise", according to the WRECK AGE website. To me it's just noise. You know the idea: some sound deemed to be interesting is looped over and over and mixed in with other such. Clearly it takes a certain amount of trouble to do this, but as far as I'm concerned, the result is, well, like it says in the title, apathy. Think DISPOSABLE HEROES OF THE HIPHOPRISY, but without the vocals that actually made 'em worth listening to more than once.

ATMOS.SPHERE
This is a single 50-minunte track of electronic/ambient/trance music which was recorded without any overdubbing. The rhythm is great with periodic changes in the instrumentation, and there are occasional interesting samples scattered throughout. It's very reminiscent of THE ORB, and pretty entertaining up to a point. After about 30 minutes, the repetition starts wearing a little thin and my mind starts wandering. Of course, if you're into repetitive rave-type music, this tape is for you.

ARCHANGEL
'TEF 'HANJ-O-VER
This recording mimics its exotic and erotic packaging. A solid hour of carefully designed sound atmospheres, employing a wide variety of sources. ALEXANDER WHEILL, the self proclaimed head "cheeze" of Wreck Age, and his collaborator (listed only as "SS") wield a number of synthesizers, a typewriter, a vacuum cleaner, some tapes, a few gongs, some sound effect processors, and a lot of percussive objects with the skill of true improvisational artists. Interwoven into this mix are recordings that sound like a cross section of porn and sex psychoanalysis. (Huh-huh, you said "anal"-Ian) The conversations between the speakers on these tapes are mostly kept very low in the mix, but pop to the forefront on occasion, keeping the listener curious about the mysterious messages that ARCHANGEL is conveying. The mix is nicely balanced between the harsh and the soothing and the rhythmic and the ambient. It all seems to get more interesting with each repeated listening.

HOLOSKANKS PORNAUDIOPHY
"19...18...17...16 (and so
on)...3...2...1...Blast Off! --(Aaaauuuugghhh) - mmph - ahhh - I got some on your face...I got a little bit on my tongue". So starts
the HOLOSKANKS' (or more precisely a guy named NICHOLAS MARKER) excursion into electronic porn. This is very listenable
electronic pumping, with huge bassy distorted keyboards stained with tons of pornographic sound bits. Lacking in any sung
vocals - all lyrics are supplied through such interesting sexual exchanges as "He fucked my mouth real hard. Then he licked my
asshole". Sometimes these phrases and moans are looped to create a rhythm in themselves - other times they are isolated for
maximum effect. The general rhythms and pace is fairly 'pounding' (reflecting the composer's primary obsession). Between the
rhythmic thrusts of beat and all the hot talk - I'm getting aroused! OK, here's an experiment (since I'm not currently getting any,
but charged enough by this release to wonder...) 'What would sex be like with the HOLOSKANKS' PORNAUDIOPHY as the
romantic background'? If any of you reading this are currently in the position for sex on tap - get this release, take some drugs
and fornicate to this and let me know how it turns out. (Even if it sux...c'mon...I just got ya laid). PS - I tried sex by myself to
this...but it wasn't very good. "You like sucking cock?" begins and ends one of the tracks and is followed by 'mmmmphs' of
agreement that get looped to create the intro - along with slurping sounds of well executed fellatio before bumpin' into the almost
danceable bass beat with some twingy noise mixed in with the porn sounds. Most of this is listenable - some isn't. One track
sounds like MARKER got too stoned with the drum machine and echo effects and it gets annoying quickly. The best part of this
release is a choice number that goes something like this: "Today we are going to learn how to give a good blow job" (whicka
whicka whicka whoo - whicka whicka whica whoo) "Women...we have to talk" (Whicka whicka) "I've been talking to men and
they are not happy. They have not been getting their manly requirements of blowjobs" (Whicka whicka) "Now...never leave the
balls out women" (Whicka whicka) I will be including this song on many a personal compilation I create in the future - just for its
informational value.

Wreck Age -Cassette - 90mins
The title of this tape is PORNAUDIOPHY and please do not get me started with that fucked up good-old-boys-attitude of all the American people who call it "Po**audiophy" or things like that. I hate censorship and if the title of this tape is PORNAUDIOPHY then you fucked up censors have to call it that way and not differently, stupid motherfuckers... After my angry anti-censorship vent I will also add that the guy behind this musical project is not a sexist yet you have to be aware of the sexual contents of this tape. Well, Nicholas Marker (Dogged For Sympathy, ex-Son Of Sky, ex-Dive The Nile) aka Holoskanks, decided to make this study on the effect of modern poRNOgraphy and on how it affects human and on how it can be proven addictive after years of viewing. Musically, PORNAUDIOPHY is made of noisy electronic sounds, acid sequences, techno-beats, hip-hop beats, reverbered samples and much more influences...It is not too bad at all, I liked it quite a lot, yet I think that Nicholas should have had to include a writing about the above mentioned study in order to associate this tape and this study with something concrete, aside from music, which can be freely and randomly interpreted. The tape comes in an original paper-package and it has been released on Montreal label Wreck Age, so get in touch and support!

Fourpack Device v.1.01
Wreck Age mc-4tx-30’
During my last trip to Canada I finally met the mysterious constantly-moving Alexander Wheill, probably better known to our readers as the man behind the Wreck Age recordings tape label. He handed me this tape which is outstandingly interesting I have to admit. Only four song (somebody once said “less is more”...) but very cool sonorities and great moments for whoever loves electronics/noise/experimental... The four bands featured (D.F.S. / Holoskanks / Archangel / Atmospheh-Rhycxx) are actually walking big steps tape after tape! Check it out!

Fourpack Device v.I.OI
Wreck Age Recordings mc-4tx-30’
This tape is limited to 50 copies, a four track promo with one song from each of Wreck Age’s main bands: experimentation is the key of FOUR PACK DEVICE v.I.OI.
On the A side we find Dogged For Sympathy, a project formed by Alex Wheill (head of Wreck Age and also member of Archangel), Eh-rhycxx from Atmospheh-Rhycxx and Simon Sinistar from Archangel. A violent Aggro-Industrial approach makes Cumdrunk (Bukkaki edit mhycxx) a really interesting dance track.
Pornoism (censored mix) by Nicholas Marker’s Holoskanks is a track originally issued on “A Cosmic Noise Compilation Vol.2”. As usual Holoskanks bears the palm of most vulgar and depraved band with a track that mix techno music and dirty samples, and the result is very tribal and extreme.
On the B side is Archangel with a dark industrial Fantasma (edit): a track already issued in “The Disarticulation Room” compilation of the Mutant Cactus Recordings label, with dark noise and gloomy ambient atmosphere .
Last track is Atmos.Sphere (edit) by Atmospheh-Rhycxx, already issued on the “Atmos.Sphere” tape: a mix of techno and industrial, interesting and powerful.
A gift is the ghost song by Simon Sinistar at the end of A-side: a dancey and disturbing track.
I think this tape shows a label that has chosen its bands with care, for their music is really particular and interesting. I hope they will soon release CDs and that their music could be easier to find.
