A circle of friends

But life is just too demanding and time just too precious to commit yourself to so many people. I say this because my approach to friendship is to invest my energy into their lives and visa versa; be there for them night or day... in good times and bad. Now I have narrowed down my selection of friends to those who add value to my life and who I can see are moving forward in addition to their partying. Sure, I also have a vast collection of acquaintances whom I see once in a while. But I'm very protective of my time and how people affect my life nowadays.

This section is dedicated to my inner circle of friends, like Mimmie here in this pic to the left. I love Mimmie like my own soul. She had a baby in December 1997 and is now a single parent. Since she discovered she was pregnant I was designated by all "the daddy" or other parent of the child. I have been elated to go through this experience with her and am supporting her in every way. The little girl (Adrianne) is a Sagittarian (Yippee!) and she was crazy about me since she was still in the womb. The minute I used to walk in the door and she heard my voice, she started kicking and bouncing around in Mimmie's womb. Mimmie said she responded more to my touch than hers, which was quite bizarre.

I was of course Mimmie's birth partner as well, which meant I experienced the birth of Adrianne. We have a huge amount of fun at the anti-natal classes. We got up to mischief more than anything, and rather explore alternative methods of relaxation, pain relief and distraction. (Update on birth of baby - 28 November!!!!)

"I dare you to be really BAD and not brush your teeth tonight!" - Mimmie

Mimmie and I have always been like two wild, bush children as friends. We climb out of bed, put on whatever's lying on the floor, and wonder about without shoes or underwear. We find homes deserted because their owners are on vacation and skinny dip in their pools in broad daylight. We are both "vampires" (see pic of Mimmie to the right), loving the night and dreading the rays of morning. I can remember many a moonlit night, roaming the streets barefoot, wearing little more than our underwear. We would find some hill with a view of the city to gaze at while exploring the philosophies of "life, the universe, and sex" until the sky started becoming orange with the sunrise.

Mimmie loves watching me at social events. Or should I say, "How people react to me during social interactions. I usually get a full report of how each person swooned over me or how people's partners threw their toys out of jealousy. I'm usually so oblivious of this. I simply flutter about with my usual energy and spontaneity on my own mission. These report backs are held during long candlelit baths, munching on Pringles crisps and smoking a thousand cigarettes.
