DATE: Saturday 3 May 1997 19.14 60 days to go...
Sunday 7/6/97.. I'm transcribing this entry as was, part of it won't make sense unless you know that I had this diary on Litweb before. I had no way of checking what my HTML was going to look like before I loaded it up, so my entries got a little scrambled. I thought about just fixing the textual and HTML errors (which I did do) and then removing the extraneous reference, but decided to leave it in. It's historical for me, and this is my Journal, so it stays.. and now.. back to our regularly scheduled entry.. Been off browsing other people's journals the last couple of days, which has been fun, but hasn't gotten me any writing done. sigh. BUT, it has got me some inspiration to write, I've made a page of notes, and am going to sit down tomorrow, the Patron day of All Procrastinaters..., and write.. But first, Happy Birthday to my sister Sam, she's 26 today. I
gave her a
Cynthia Heimel
book, really funny woman, with a knack for cool titles such as
'If you can't live without me, why aren't you Dead yet?'..
hee.. Word to the wise, don't buy 'If the phone doesn't ring,
that'll be me' and 'If you leave me, can I come too'... cause
they're the same book... in teeny tiny type down
the bottom of the back of the cover of the second book (in the
cupboard with the sign marked with the words
Beware of the Leopard ...)
are the words .. previously published under the name....
Name of the Second Book. grrr.. Fortunately, Sam can't find
her copy of the Second Book, so I'm saved.. It's also Niccolo Machiavelli's , birthday, 1469, so no card required. He's on my list of people I really must read. I often use the phrase to describe my work games, but haven't read the man who's name I borrow. Oh yes, discovered a new diary that I like , Melody's Fresh Little Puddles. Be patient , she'll be off air for a week or two, cause she's moving, but if you haven't discovered her site before, go back and read from the start. Fun, chatty, and she likes my emails... This is what I like about the Net, a new way of finding People to Know! I have my own homepage now, which I'm working on fixing a few things on. But, I'm not going to leave Litweb yet, cause it's a cool site and should be supported. I will have a link to my journal, which I'll keep updated, same stuff that will be on my journal pages on my homepage (I dunno, is it uncool to have *2* links to your own homepage within your own journal page... heeee... no the novelty has not worn off, why do you ask??), but I'll have to have my journal within my own page so that people can read it in a linear progression. Plus, one of the cool things about having each entry with it's own HTML page, is that when I go back and reread (yup, to check links, plus I like to go back and see how I was feeling that day, relive the moment, that kinda thing), I often think of new things to say, so I can add another bit down the bottom of the page. Plus, I can go back and fix any outdated links or screwups, which I can't do in Litweb, cause it's not my pages. More tomorrow, got to fly to a Science fiction birthday party. more about that tomorrow, plus all the stuff I wanted to write about the notes I took, plus, I hope, I can get these journal pages all with pages of their own! well, maybe just the latest couple of entries... 3/5/97 60 days... 19.52.. |
For the time being my archives are at LitWeb.
