The tragic death of Princess Diana
from injuries suffered in a Paris car crash, shocked the world.
The circumstances of her death are still forthcoming, but initial
reports state that she and her friend Dodi Fayed were being
pursued by paparazzi on the streets of Paris. The car in which
they were passengers crashed into a tunnel barricade at high
speed, destroying their Mercedes and instantly killing Fayed
and the car's driver, Henri Paul, a
Paris Ritz-Carlton/Fayed employee. Princess Diana died a few hours
later in hospital.
Her bodyguard, also in the vehicle
remains hospitalized in critical, but not life-threatening
condition.
