I've Just Seen a Face is a humorous look at the impulsive nature of all men who are smitten with a
woman. It's about how that woman will fill the mind and heart of the man, making him ponder all
sorts of crazy notions, that is until the next pretty face comes along. It is a silent film best viewed
with music selected from my collection. I have no copyright privileges over any of that music,
however.
I've Just Seen A Face is the first and only (so far) project I have been able to do that was shot and
edited completely on 16mm film stock. It was made in association with The LDS Motion Picture
Studio, using their cameras and film splicers. The entire four minute feature was filmed on a
Saturday in June 1995, on location in Cedar City and scenic Parowan, Utah.
The star of I've Just Seen A Face is Micah Player--lead singer of The Soulutions, my little
brother, and effortless Ham. The Soulutions, by the way, did the theme music to my documentary
Child's Play. Micah should be on Broadway, in Hollywood, and signed to about eight record
contracts by the time he's 23. Either that or he'll be on top of the old Sear's building in
Minneapolis, naked and screaming, "You call this a Danish?!" It all depends on Ruth Ann, his
girl.
Another kudo must go to Scott M. Hurst, my cinematographer on the project. Although I like to
take credit for it, its actually him who came up with the great pull out that takes place when Karl
Karisma can't find the Girl.
