Today is the feast day of Saint Valentine. Every day is the feast day of saint somebody...but for some reason everyone remembers the one that gives an excuse to give cards, candy and kisses to our loved ones.

One legend suggests that in the 3rd century, a priest named Valentine defied Emperor Claudius II's war time ban on marriages and secretly married young lovers. He was later discovered and killed.

Did you know that Valentine's Day is the second largest card-sending holiday in the United States? More than one billion cards are exchanged each year! There are many facts about the history of Valentine's Day that many of us do not know!
