A Season of Love

A rose stands in full bloom
Sharing joy to all around
Nourished by the sun's love
Strong roots hold firm in the ground.

Northern winds begin their descent
And no matter how it tries
The rose once in full bloom
Drops it's petals and slowly dies.

People are born unto this earth
Fed with all God's gifts,
They mature in Him and share their lives
With others, both bound and adrift.

Wisdom comes as the years roll by,
Days are not lost but found,
Then the Lord comes to take them away
And they leave this earth Heavenbound.

Love between two people is much the same,
It's God-given . . . it's deep within;
There is gloom and rapture and all in between,
Still God's love starts and has no end.

Once in love a person finds no way out,
Nothing can pull love apart,
Not even death can take you from me
For you will always have my heart.

Written for love, the greatest gift from God.

Without Him, it isn't love . . .

and without love, it isn't eternal . . .

~ D. Gardner ~

The author, D. Garner (also known as "deege"), is a very special penpal friend of mine, introduced to me by another good friend. Funny sometimes how our circle of friends grows and grows! First there are two then along comes another... and then another... and another... So as time and earth continues to spin... we'll always have very good friends... and we'll continue to be blessed!

Thanks Deege! And thank you, God, for my friends.
Amen
