I'm going to try to post any articles that I already have, or anything that I find about the show, and the stars. But right now, it's pitiful how little I have. I'll keep looking!
(This article is referring to a movie ["Ogopogo"] which is supposed to be filmed in Manitoba this summer. The part I've posted is about Kim Todd [the producer of "AOSH", and who is involved with this new movie] and Meredith Henderson. Okay, enough said.)
As if (Kim) Todd isn’t busy enough, she’s also in development on a youth TV series with the working title of Guinivere Jones.
“The premise is there’s a 15-year-old girl, who is a loner and has a strange family. She’s worried that she’s strange herself and finds that, indeed she is. She’s the reincarnation of Queen Guinivere, from the King Arthur story,” explained Todd, who is working on the project with Vancouver-based story editor/producer Beth Stewart and YTV.
Meredith Henderson (The Adventures of Shirley Holmes) is being considered for the lead, and, if the show is greenlighted, it could start production next year.
"It feels sad. Larger male crew members broke into tears when they heard the news," said The Adventures of Shirley Holmes producer Kim Todd, who personally told the families of the two principles, Meredith Henderson and John White that the show had wrapped for good.
"It's bittersweet having to part. It's like parenthood," Todd said of the series that gave many Manitoba film trainees a start in its first season four years ago. (Since then, four trainees have gone on to become heads of their departments.)
That's not to say Shirley won't live on. Having completed its final season in November, the show's 52 episodes put it in a prime position for world syndication.
"I told Meredith she'll be haunted by it for the rest of her life. Even now, YTV is showing it five nights a week and people will continue to recognize her as Shirley for a long time," Todd said of the 16-year-old Gemini Award-winner.
What's in the pipeline for Todd? Along with two feature film co-productions, Taiga and Stir Fry, she's working on a TV series developed with CBC-TV called There's A Rainbow in My Closet. The Credo Entertainment Corp./CBC show is half animation and half live action and skewed for 4- to 8-year-olds. Todd hopes to begin production in the spring, depending on financing.
The sweetheart of the teen sleuth set has packed her magnifying glass away for good. The Adventures of Shirley Holmes, produced by Credo Entertainment Corp., has finished its production run.
"There comes a time when you have to let it go. It's time to move on and do something else," said producer Kim Todd, who hopes to work with the show's 16-year-old, Gemini Award-winning star, Meredith Henderson on future projects.
Having completed its fourth season in November, the popular, Winnipeg-shot show is now at 52 episodes and will likely be syndicated around the world. The latest episodes will begin airing in February on YTV. Currently, it is also broadcast on the BBC in England, Fox Family in the United States, and in numerous other countries.
