This page is about the adult characters in "The Adventures of Shirley Holmes". I started it mainly in response to a post on Damon's posting board, so, a big thanks to Damon and Sean! I'm still looking, but I can't seem to find much out there right now. If anyone has any info on these characters, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
- Peggy Holmes
- Peggy is Shirley's Gran. Gran has lived with Shirley and her father since Shirley was little. Peggy has an interesting background: archeological digs, Tai Chi, and even a possible "alien encounter". Gran is always up to help Shirley with something, even if she's not quite sure what Shirley is up to this time.
- Mr. Howie
- Mr. Howie is Sussex Academy's resident eccentric teacher. He avoids anything to do with the paranormal, female teachers, and even children. However, all the students seem to like him anyways. Mr. Howie seems to be, again, in therapy. This time, it's for his alien encounter. The time before? It was for this junior high / high school teacher's fear of children.
- Mr. Holmes
- Robert Holmes is Shirley's father. He lives with his mother, Peggy, and Shirley in Redington. Robert works (I believe) for the British Ambassador to, well...whatever country Redington is in! Because of his job, the Holmes family has moved around lots. But since Shirley's mother went missing, the Holmes' have settled down in Redington. Mr. Holmes admitted to himself that his wife had died well before Shirley would even think of that idea, but he did seem to share a slight bit of the hope that Shirley held that the two of them would find Joanna. He believes in Shirley, no matter what she is up to, because (although he doesn't really know it) she has helped him out many times. And because of his faith in Shirley, the two of them together managed to bring Joanna Holmes home from Rwanda.
