<--------board's going that way...
This is when you "jump". Basically, 2 steps. POP and SLIDE. First you want to get kinda low. Your front foot should be around the middle of the board and the tip of your shoe should not go over the edge. Pop with your back foot, and the louder the pop is, the more likely you'll get up. Right after the pop, use your front foot to slide the shoe to the end of the board, making it go up. By the time you land, your feet will be farther apart than what you started with.
When you make the board go 180, and you stay in one place. Place your front foot in the middle of the board. When you first start learning this, the trick is all in the right foot. Lean forward and with your back foot, push down and push it back. This'll make it spin and the board will stay low, so you'll have no trouble landing. Once you get used to doing this, the trick is called a shove-it because you ollie and with your front foot, you shove the board outward, making it spin. The difference is that the board goes higher.
The main problem with this is that the board drifts backwards after the pop. It's basically like a shove-it, only the board turns the other way. Before you pop the tail, make your body fall back so that by the time the board is done turning, your body will be over the board.
When you ollie and go 180 with the board. Place your front foot over the front bolts. Hang your toes over the edge a little. If your left foot is in front, pull to your left side. If your right foot is in front, pull to your right side. It's kinda complicated to explain it, but go 180 and land. sorry, but that's the best I can do. Just make sure your feet are planted right.
This is just like an ollie, except you do it from the nose. Go sorta fast. Place one foot on the nose and your back foot close to it. Lean toward that foot on the middle of the board and ollie. It's important that you lean toward the back foot because after you pop the nose, you're gonna go forward while the board just sits there under you. If you don't lean a little, then you're gonna fall on your face when you land on the nose. But that's just me...: )
When you jump up and flip the board at the same time. Practice getting your board to "flip" correctly before you try to land this. You can't land a kickflip if you can't even flip the board decently. There are 2 steps. 1: If you can flip your board and then have it land on the floor grip tape up, then you can go to the next step. 2: If you're lazy like me, practice on a table or a pole or something. (I learned this from Mr. Pimp Karl) I did this on a table, so that's what I'll use as an example. Stand next to a table and face it. Put your hands on the table. Do your kickflip and while you're in the air, hold yourself up with your hands. Once you do your decent flip, and it lands grip tape up, put your foot down and land it. There. Now you have done a kickflip. Keep practicing and try it for real.
Just like a kickflip, only you hang your heel over the edge and you flip the board the other way.
You do a shove-it and a kickflip at the same time. First, place your feet like it's a shove-it. Guiding your board halfway with the shove-it, throw your feet and do the flip part. Hang in the air and then land.
Just like a f/s 180 ollie, you 180 the other way. Foot placement is a bit different, but the 180 is the same.
When you do a b/s 180 ollie, then add a flip. First, learn how to do a b/s 180 ollie first. Halfway through the 180, throw your feet to flip the board. Another way to look at this is that it's a shove-it kickflip with a b/s twist.
