 will start out with perhaps the most popularly known title that there is THE WIZARD OF OZ. Now everyone has seen the movie with Judy Garland, it's one of the great classics that we *almost* can't help but watch when it comes on television....but did you know that there was more to it then just that? Did you realize, that the movie left out so many things that were in the book by L. Frank Baum? Did you also realize that L. Frank Baum wrote 14 other OZ books as well? and THEN the stories were picked up by other authors to carry the total to over 210 to date?! (no I don't have all of those, only the first 14 *smile*)
To give some brief background on how OZ was created back in the very early 1900's: L. Frank Baum would amuse the neighborhood children during the summer..spinning them stories about this wonderful magic kingdom...where animals could talk...there were good witches and bad witches...full of kings and queens of different beasts.....well..after a little bit...one of the small children bravely asked him..what the name of this kingdom was. L. Frank Baum was stumped! He quickly looked around the room and his eyes fell upon the filing cabinet...and the very last drawer..was marked...O-Z ..and poof!..OZ was born!
