 here to start with David Eddings...well the best place to start would be with The Belgariad and let you get a taste for how David Eddings writes. In the first book of this series, The Pawn of Prophecy, we are introduced to Garion, who is nothing but a young boy who lives on a farm in the care of his Aunt Polgara, who is the farm's cook. Well, not too far into the book, you begin to realize that there is a mystery that shrouds Garion. A mystery much larger then the small farm that he lives on. A magical mystery that will change the face of the world, and embroil it in a catastrophic conflict. *major stuff eh?*
David Eddings has written many other series that are well worth the time to explore. He manages to create characters that are rich, exciting, and intriguing. Once you start reading his books you will NOT want to put them down.
