I first became interested in the powers at the age of maybe 10 or 11. My father informed me that my great- grandmother was a proven psychic. He told me she could tell what things were happening and what people were saying. It was always stuff that came true... things that 'normal' people really couldn't have known. I was told all this when I inquired of my dad, "Why do I always get deja vu and then suddenly remember that I dreamed what I just did? I seem to know my future!" So, I heard the story. Some months later my dad predict something that had a two year impact on my family. The next day, it came true, unfortunately. Ever since I have tried many powers and I have found I have a knack at some and really need to work on others.

One of these powers I am fairly good at is Telepathy. My father is extremely sensitive in that area also. When one talks about being psychic, mind reading usually comes to mind first. For some reason, that is what being psychic is to uninformed people. Telepathy is the power closest to mind reading. So many people associate telepathy as being the "true" psychic power. This is not so, for, as we read, we will discover that there are many more powers out there. Since everyone is naturally psychic, this means they are naturally telepathic. If you have dedication and sincere intentions, telepathy is fairly easy to master.

Some Where Out There... Telepathy was once thought to be the way beings communicated before human language came around. Many scientists entertain the idea that beings from other planets, if they exist, communicate through a higher form of telepathy. Many science fiction and fantasy writers incorporate this into their writing. Wether this is true or not, is left up in the air. Perhaps, one day, if we are visited by other creatures, they will need a practiced psychic to communicate with the creatures. Who knows, maybe we already have made contact and psychics are already in use? Alien fans, better get practicing!

It always used to annoy me when I would mention to someone that I was studying the metaphysical and I was having some good luck at Telepathy. Without fail the person, usually a skeptic, would raise an eyebrow and say, "Oh really? Tell me what I'm thinking right now then."

First off, don't you know what you're thinking; do you really need someone else to tell you? Telepathy isn't supposed to be used as a guessing game; a "You tell me what I'm thinking and I'll believe you" type of thing.

Secondly, to be able to turn on your Telepathy like that and immediately read someone's thoughts takes years of practice. Don't let that discourage you if you can't do something like that right away. Who knows, perhaps you will. At the very least, to be able to do something like that would take some time to go into a meditation or a deep thinking trance. By then, the skeptic would be bored and even more skeptical. It's best to avoid announcing things like this... the powers are in everyone, you are not more special because you developed yours, just smarter!

One of the reasons Telepathy is fairly easy to master is because thoughts are energy patterns. Scientific tools can pick them up, so can you! You've already had Telepathic experiences in your life for sure. Have you ever just known what someone was going to say before they said it? Do you find yourself frequently saying "uh-huh" and "I know" to thoughts people haven't even voiced yet? Have you ever picked up someone's mood or vibrational energy? Perhaps someone has picked up your energy? There are two major categories of Telepathy: Sending and receiving.

ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤º°`°º¤ø¤º°`°º¤ø To get you started on your Telepathic training (so you can make snap comments to those annoying skeptics) here are some simple tests. A few will require the help of a friend, but all are worth it. I have used many myself and can say that they work wonders.

TEST ONE You will need a partner to complete this test. 1) Decide who will be the sender and who will be the receiver. Once decided, the two of you should go into separate rooms.
2) Once there, both of you need to quietly sit and close your eyes. Imagine a bright light (white or blue, depending upon preference) opening in your third eye region, or the middle of your forehead.
3) The sender should draw a simple picture. The receiver sits with her eyes closed and receives the image in her mind. Receiver, draw the first thing you see; do not sensor your thoughts. It is necessary to let your mind flow. Often, when I am the receiver, I picture purple and blue lights swirling around inside my head until they stop and the image is formed.
4) Once finished, meet together and compare the drawings. Quite often, you will be astonished at your accuracy. If at first you don't succeed...then try, try again. That basic rule applies here too. As with anything, psychic powers take a great deal of dedication to develop. Do not assume you are finished until the receiver has come to knock at the door of the sender's room.
5) Sometimes, the best images to communicate telepathically are ones that involve all of the senses including emotions. They come across the strongest and are the easiest to perceive. The sender must put all of her effort into it to make the receiver get the picture.

TEST TWO You will need a partner and a deck of Zener Cards. If you do not have a deck, they can easily be made or photocopied from a library. The five shapes are a cross, three wavy lines, a square, a circle, and a star.

Shuffle your deck of cards (25 in total). Tell the tester when you are ready. The tester should then hold up the card (to themselves) and send the card to you. Say what you think the card is, and have the tester mark it on the score sheet under 'call' (See Appendix A for score sheets). Then the tester should mark what the card really was under 'card'. The tester shouldn't speak a word until all 25 cards have been gone through five times. If, during the run of these cards, you should get bored at any point, stop and rest. Forcing it won't do you any good. Scoring should look somewhat like this:

Remember to always keep a record to see how your ESP is progressing. Once you find out what area of ESP is strongest for you, repeat these tests from time to time. The first time I took this test, with my father, we did one run...I got 12 hits. The above scoring is for all five runs. Is it just coincidence or was I really telepathic? I know for certain, when I perform this test with my cousin, we both do very well. We are extremely close, both believe in the powers, and can take the test effectively. Sometimes it depends on who the sender is. Try it with different people.
