Puerto Rico is my beautiful country, where I was borned and I live.

We stay in the Caribbean part of America, next to Central America.
Puerto Rico is the smallest island of the Greater Antilles
and the biggest island of the Lesser Antilles.
How can anyone imagine that a space that is 100 x 35 miles long can
be filled of beauty ladies? Believe me so!
We have produced 3 Miss Universe, more than other countries that are
bigger which some of them haven't even won a crown.
Marisol Malaret...
is our first lady that placed in the finalists and our first Miss Universe.
In 1970, she went to a pageant were it had not the importance Miss Universe
have today to us. She is so beautiful and had the way to be of the people,
so everyone loved her. She is actually divorced and has a daughter. She is
the president and founder of the magazine "Caras" in Puerto Rico.
After her, the pageant have had even more importance
in Puerto Rico from year to year.
The next year, Beba Franco arrived 3rd finalist in Miss Universe 1971.
Three years later, in Miss Universe 1974, Sonia Stege placed on the
Semi-finalists.
Agnes Tañón placed on the Semi-Finalists at 1980.
Deborah Carthy Deu...
is our second Miss Universe. Fifteen years later since our first winner,
our country enjoyed the thriumph of our next Miss Universe. She is so sweet
and is actually married. She is working on channel 6 (Puerto Rico) as a
co-host of an interesting program.
A year later, 1986, Elizabeth Robinson
entered the select group of Semi-Finalists.
Then, at 1987, Laurie Simpson
stayed 4th Finalist in the Miss Universe Pageant.
Dayanara Torres...
is our third and recent Miss Universe. After she gave the crown, she stayed
in Philippines living because of work offers. She has filmed 11 movies and
is going film her number 12. She is the host of two programs at the Philippines.
In recent months, her first musical album was released, including the song
"Antifaz". She came to Puerto Rico to promote and buyed an apartment at the
Condado, one of the most important sectors in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico.
She lives intermitently between Philippines and Puerto Rico. I will not forget
as she said when giving the crown...
"...No matter where I am, I will always be proud of have been borned in my
LINDO PUERTO RICO...!"
Desirée Lowry
in 1995 placed 4th finalist in a pageant that a lot of people
thought she was to win, staying as first runner-up Miss Canada, Dana Buchberger.
She actually is the co-host of the program "A Fuego" at the channel 11
(Puerto Rico) and have a model company. She is married.
Ana Rosa Brito
stayed at 1997 on the Semi-Finalist group. She is married and waiting a
precious gift from God.
This year, 1998, Joyce Giraud
placed Second Runner-Up, a pageant were she was the favorite to win.
She is analyzing great offers that is receiving after her incredible act at
Miss Universe.
We, Puerto Rico, are so proud of the beauties of our country. I hope
