Excerpt from "The Memoirs of V'thtashi Harun de', a Woman of Change"

"It was not so much the tragedy of the event itself which I felt more, but rather the sudden isolation which necessarily followed.  Everyone I loved so dearly was no longer accessible to me, and I felt utterly and profoundly alone.  I cannot say when I first noticed the fact that I was truly alone.  I had been struggling with its demons for quite some time without knowing it.  He had jokingly referred to it as the "Zone of Power Void". He had always come out with some humorous remark or some glib comment, especially when He had felt at his lowest.   After His death, I was forced by tradition to go into a period of mourning for one whole cycle. I realized that even the limited exposure to the other people I had during the pregnancy was nothing compared to the despair I experienced after He was gone.  Being cut off from my own People was bad enough. But all the new friends I had made during my first years on Pax had chosen to respect the religious beliefs of my "Tribe" and the traditional period of mourning thereby dictated by its commandments and stayed away without question.  Well, almost all..."

We left the Station in the middle of a arduous battle in the Council Chambers of the Allied Races.  V'thtashi Harun de', speaking through Tzipora, is fighting for possession of Pax Station. The Races are divided as to who should control Pax Station, and the division is widening. A hooded Stranger has entered the chambers, claiming possession of evidence as to the Mastermind of the recent spate of raids on merchant vessels in the Unlerion system.  Before the Stranger is able to give his evidence, however, a recess is called by Tzipora to give the tempers of the Ambassadors present a chance to cool.

During the recess, V'thtashi encounters the new Physician on Pax, Dr Valor Ivandahoe. Dr Valor Ivandahoe bears a surprising resemblance to Captain Valor Ivandahoe, an old friend of the Volkune People and former Captain of the EAV Victory.  A few confused moments follow, and V'th decides to table the matter until the crisis in chambers is resolved and returns to her quarters for some rest.

In the meantime, below the excitement in the chambers, a mysterious figure lurks in dark corners. A proud figure approaches the hidden presence, apparently in a world of his own. In the rush to enter the hidden catacombs beneath Pax Station, the passer-by neglects to scan for alien presence and has almost reached the security of his destination when he is struck from behind. He manages to get in a few blows to his assailant before he succumbs to an inhalant and collapses to the floor. Moments later, throat cut, his life's blood draining away, he makes one last attempt to call for help. Raising one lone hand in anguish ... his attempts futile, his world darkens forever.

Within an hour, the alarm is raised when a Drazi merchant stumbles upon the corpse. As the Drazi could not explain his presence in the restricted area, he was subsequently arrested for the foul murder and placed in a holding cell.  However, what caused the most upheaval on the little station twirling around a non-descript star was the forsaken husk left behind.

Due to the sensitive nature of the event, the Volkune Ambassador was called upon to identify the body. Her physician and friend, the Minbari Tzipora, had been called in to attend the Royal Concubine, as a precaution.  Steeling her reserves, V'th removes the drab covering to reveal the prone figure of her former lover, Rron PrimaVol!
