From Mom to Me...

I know I haven't always been the ideal mom,
I've made some mistakes,
along the way...
I've hurt you when I didn't mean to,
helped you when you didn't need my help,
held on too tightly,
when you needed me to let go a little,
Even now, I know I wasn't always...
the kind of Mom you wanted me to be,
Sometimes I did too much...
and sometimes not quite enough.
But I hope you know I've always done,
what I thought was best for you,
and even when I made mistakes,
I always acted out of love,
because "I love you" very much...
and more than you'll ever know.
You know that sometimes I will smile...
and think I did a few things right,
because I see...
the wonderful person you've become.
