This page is just a little reminder that we all must take a little time out from our busy schedules and enjoy some of life's leisure activities. Life provides us with many distractions from the mundane....And this is the spot where you can find out exactly what some of those distractions are. Here we take a vacation from the daily grind and we talk sports, movies, TV, books, hot night spots, trends, etc...AND of course my favorite.....MUSIC!!!! This is the place that tells you life is too short ENJOY!! Buy that CD you have been wanting, blast your favorite song, and sing and dance all over your house; and when your done doing that hit the town....It's all yours!! This page allows us to share our opinions on where is the "spot" to be! -OR- If you just need a little quite time what movie, video, or TV show is worth seeing lately; and good books are worth reading. I think you get the idea.............So here we go..............................
WOW!!! This page has really gotten off to a good start! I have to say I am surprised at the amount of visitors I have had in such a short time! I love the E-mails guys and everybody is really starting to catch on about the guestbook. "For Your Reading Enjoyment"....I just have to say laughter is good for the soul!! Laugh enough and it's good for the abbs too!!
Anyway....Let's get down to business!
I am still basking in the after glow of the New York Yankees incredible season and their 24th World Series win. 1999 has proven to be yet another incredible season for our Yankees!! Once again Get out those brooms- I feel a Yankee World Series Sweep. I See a 25th World Series WIN!!!!! We ALL KNOW WHO THE TEAM OF THE CENTURY IS!!!!!!!
As far as Football goes... all I have to say is Go GAMECOCKS!!!!! Come on Lou Holtz work your magic!!!!" Sadly the Gamecocks losing streak continues, they have yet to win a game since their season opener against Ball State in 1998. Our COCKS could definitely use a little Viagra!! 
Well as far as the Music scene goes- I'm still recovering from Woodstock!!!!
I know I ussually give you my NEW artist pick, but as my favorite New CD.......I have to go with CREED! If you liked -MY OWN PRISON- Run to your nearest music store and get -HUMAN CLAY- !! One of my favorite moments of 1999 was when Robby Krieger of the DOORS(my all time favorite band) joined Creed on stage at Woodstock, it was incredible!!! If you closed your eyes you could swear that you were listening to Jim Morrison himself! Scott Stapp the lead singer of Creed has a beautiful voice, and is backed by an equally talented band. I have to say it- They ROCK!! ***Movies, MOVIES, MOVIES!............Well, I have been going out alot, but I also have been trying to keep up on my movies. Of course I will start with THE SIXTH SENSE it is Must See, and yes- Haley Joel Osment- deserves an Oscar!! He is a very talented young actor. But that is all I will say about that, because I don't want to give anything away! Next -OUTSIDE PROVIDENCE & AMERICAN BEAUTY-
Outside Providence is a charming and hilarious coming of age movie. If you liked SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, you'll love this movie too, The Farrelly Brothers have once again knocked me out of my seat with laughter!
American Beauty is a little different, it is more of a dark comedy. They're are many parts in this movie that will have you laughing out loud, but ultimately this movie is somewhat sad. And true to its title, it is also beautiful. It is very easy to loose sight of who you really are, to plow through life failing to see how beautiful it is. We make life more complicated than it has to be. It is unfortunate that people have created so much ugliness to match all the beauty. Some may walk out of this movie and not understand. Some will walk out of this movie not wanting to understand, maybe even calling it warped; the rest of us will sadly understand this movie only too well.
Well the Fall TV season is back in full swing- No more summer re-runs! Last Season's pick for the best new show.......THAT 70's SHOW!!!! I have to agree! If you missed all the laughs last season- make sure to join in this season- Tuesday nights on FOX. -GET YOUR VOTE IN!!! -I ask everyone to E-mail me with their pick for the best NEW fall show- I'll Post the best comment for the show that wins! As for me- I'm just Happy to welcome back a few of my favorites- Frasier, That 70's Show, & Family Guy -I'm looking forward to a few good laughs!!
