This site is a chronicle of my
weight loss journey. I hope by
reading this site you learn a little about me
and that you find some encouragement
from my story.
Ok, Where do I start?...
At the beginning I guess.
I can't remember a time when my
weight has not been an issue with me.
My mom says I was the best baby because I would eat
anything and everything. Not blaming Mom
for how I am today , but just thought
if you knew how it all started you would understand me better.
My younger sister would never eat as a child and
I was used as an example for her.....
"Look how good Susie cleans her plate".....
"She's getting dessert." ....you get the picture.
Not only did I get my dessert, I got hers too.
My nickname given to me by my sisters was "Pudge"...
I was called more names as a child
than I care to remember.
Let's just say I have been called more names in my
lifetime than I care to remember.
Well, by the time High School came around
I was not a first choice for the boys.
But I soon became one by not eating
and purging when i did eat. Mom thought I was doing
so good on my dieting.....little did
she know that I was basically starving to death.
Well, I caught the man of my dreams and
we married right out of High School.
(still married to him after 25 years).
We soon started our family and in 5 years time I
gave birth to four sons and with each of them gained a
little more weight. Soon I was over 200 pounds
and growing. I have tried diet after diet and would lose only
to gain it back plus some.
With my highest weight being 360+ pounds. I quit weighing at one point.
It has no come to the point where I have to lose
the weight for health reasons. Not only high blood
pressure and breathing problems, but severe depression.
The depression and fear of never being able to see
my grandchildren opened my eyes.
It took alot of soul searching to be able
to admit that I was at the root of all of my
problems and that I could no longer blame
anyone or anything else for my weight problem.
I started my final weight loss journey of my life
on 2/21/00, the day I received my Food Mover
from Richard Simmons. And I am very proud to say
that I have lost to this date
March 17, 2002
130 pounds !!!!!
I exercise in some form daily.
Bike riding, walking and Richard's
videos are my favorite form.
I have the best support group I could ask for
my hubby, all my new friends at Richards Clubhouse,
including Richard. But I have to say my greatest
support is coming from within myself.
I am doing it!
I am going all the way !!!
I AM WORTH IT!
