GeoCities Counter

This is how you can place your hit counter provided by GeoCities, on your page. The counter is returned as a graphic image displayed on your page.

To set or reset your counter (and for other information) go to GeoCities Tools: Counters.

		Place your counter on your page.
	.	. . Open the FrontPage Editor with the page that you want to put the counter on. . . Position your cursor on the page, where you want the counter. . . On Insert Menu, select the Image sub-menu item. . . The locate Image dialog will appear. . . In the URL field enter the following as the location: http://www.oocities.org/cgi-bin/counter?user=membername&page=pagefile.htm Replacing 'membername' with your GeoCities member name, and 'pagefile.htm' with the filename of your page. This is so that browsers recognize different counters on different pages. . . Press Ok, you should get a broken Icon for the counter image: . . After you upload your page to GeoCities, it should appear like this: You may need to push the reload/refresh button in your browser to make it appear. . . If your counter appears distorted, select the counter image, switch the FrontPage Editor to the HTML view. Remove any Width or Height parameters on the IMG tag for the counter. .
