Creating a MailTo Image and Text

You should always put your email address on your page, so people can write it down, or enter it in an email program that is not integrated with their browser. But you are not limited to just linking your mail address to text, you can also link it to an image.

MailTo Text Link

In the FrontPage Editor, just type in your email address (example: jeffreyschimpf@oocities.com ), and FrontPage will automatically make it into a MailTo link. Note, the Hyperlink Location Field for an email link looks like: mailto:yourid@yourmail.com

MailTo Image Link

  1. Put your .gif (image) on the page.
  2. Click the right mouse button on the image (pop-up menu appears).
  3. Select 'Image Properties' on the pop-up menu (image properties notebook opens).
  4. In the Default Hyperlink Location Field enter: mailto:yourid@yourmail.com
Example: My email address looks like: mailto:jeffreyschimpf@oocities.com
