Sipadan, East Malaysia This page was created in July 1998
and last updated 01 November 1998
Here are my
favorite underwater photographs from my dive
trip to Sipadan. You can see more photos of the
site and resort at the PSR home page.
All photos taken using a
Sea & Sea MotorMarine II Underwater Camera
with a 16mm wide-angle conversion lens.
For more information about
diving trips, contactl Mako Sub-Aquatics in Singapore or Pulau Sipadan Resort.
Enjoy and dive safe!
Turtles
This is what Sipadan is
famous for: turtles. This huge 5 ft long
turtle was resting at the bottom at about 70
ft. Though unafraid of humans, they usually
prefer to leave when approached. Divers are not
allowed to touch or feed the turtles;
this is to minimise the chance of turtles
becoming dependent on humans for food.

Barracuda
 Divers just love to swim
with these: schools of barracudas.
This was taken at
"South Point" at about 100 ft.
The 3-foot long barracudas are often found here
schooling with other fish.
What you don't see
in this photo is a school of jacks and a school
of fusiliers nearby

Jacks
At the head of a school of
jacks.
This school of
1-ft long jacks is resident near "the
drop-off". They sometimes come into
the shallows.
This photo was
taken at 20 ft.
