Sonic the Hedgehog:
The Movie!

Sonic the Hedgehog the Movie
(Click on thumbnail for larger image)

The brave blue hero is back! And this time, it's more than just fun and games. That's right, Sonic the Hedgehog is starring in his own motion picture, filled with all the fast-paced energy and action-packed excitement that Sonic's famous for! The story? Sonic's arch nemesis Dr. Robotnik has been banished from the Land of Darkness by an evil Metal Robotnik. And if that wasn't bad enough, the devious doctor tells Sonic that the Robot Generator has been sabotaged and will blow Planet Freedom to kingdom come. But what could possibly make Sonic trust his worst enemy? What could make him risk life and paw? Surely not the words of Dr. Robotnik. Not even the pleas of the President. It's not until the President's beautiful daughter Sara turns on the charm that Sonic springs into action. But does she really like Sonic, or is she in love with the never-before-seen Hyper Metal Sonic? This is a very good anime, that has been out in Japan for 2 years (called Sonic Anime in Japan). It has finally made its way to North America, and you must see it! Go here and order your own copy now!

Personal Review

I recently bought this movie, and I really enjoy it. It has a good story line and great animation. The fight between Sonic and Mecha Sonic is so well done, the movie really shows off Sonic's speed. The voice actings are ok, but could of been better. Tails' voice can get annoying, but its nothing to cry over. The translation is good, a few "four letter words" have been changed in the translation, but no animation was cut out. They even left in Sonic giving Robotnik a particular hand gester (lets just say it involves one finger, and not the one you see on the cover of his games!)... Personally I would of enjoyed a sub-titled version more, but this will do quite nicely thank you. I give Sonic the Movie (it will always be Sonic Anime to me) and 8.5 out of 10. If you loved the opening to Sonic CD (I can't get enough of that intro), you will love this movie! Be sure to pick it up!
