PORTRAIT OF A REMINISCENT RECLUSE

We always said time apart would help us grow
Turns out we were right
Look at how much we've grown
How far we've grown apart

That smile is still vintage you
And it still brightens the room
But it glows best with desire in your eyes
That's something I can no longer provide

I'll put on another pot of coffee
It's the life of the party
In a black room with blue light
And Miles Davis at my side
I still think that we were right
But I've moved on with my life
