An End is the Beginning Chapter 8

"Thank you, Mrs. Hanson." Kaylee said politely as the older woman showed her the room she was sharing with the older girl, Bonnie.

There were Barbie dolls strewn around and clothes and little plastic shoes dotted the floor.

She set her bags down onto a clean bit of the floor.

"So, how's Isaac and Taylor?" Jamie asked, sipping her Coke.

"Good. Good. Isaac's married. Got 5 kids." Zac rolled his eyes. "Eldest is 10. Then there's 8, 5, 3, and one that's 10 months."

Jamie whistled. "I reckon he's been really busy."

Zac laughed. "Yeah. God, I can barely handle these 3, much less 5 and one is an infant." he rolled his eyes to the monster truck under the table. "Me and Ginny, my wife, said 3 is enough. They're all nuts."

Jamie grinned. "That's what you get for being nuts in your younger days."

He sighed.

"What about Taylor? He married and got kids?" she asked acutely.

Zac grinned. "He may have been the cutest of us all, but he has no kids. Women can't stand him." he joked. "He's lucky. He gets peace and quiet!" he said, mock glaring at a little girl who was shoving a Barbie into his face.

"Daddy! Pick me uuuuup!" she cried and he pulled her onto his knees.

Jamie just grinned. "Maybe that will change."
