In The Mind's Eye > 8

Katriona growled angrily. There was nothing on TV about Hanson's disappearance.

She sighed and looked down at the boy in her arms. He was beautiful. Not as in feminine, but more like masculine.

She twirled a strand of Zac's hair around her fingers. She was deeply sorry she had to hurt him, but she was glad to know she was saving their lives.

She thought about her dream. With the boys right here in the same room, she could see the dream easily. She trailed her fingers across his face...

---

Zac bounced in his seat. "Let's get this thing in the air!"

Ike made a face. "We're already in the air, dumbass."

Zac growled at his brother but kept bouncing.

Taylor glanced out the window. It was dark. He blinked as a bolt of lightening blinked nearby.

The loud thunder broke across the plane.

Zac froze. His stomach dropped.

A stewardess came to the front of the aisle. "Everyone, please buckle in. This is just a standard procedure... We've just hit a bit of turbulance."

Another loud crack of thunder.

A baby started to cry.

"Please turn off all electrical equipment until further notice..."

What if there is no further notice? Zac thought with a chill...

---

Katriona pulled out her daydreaming as the boy in her lap sat up and cried out.

Isaac got up and in the blink of an eye grabbed his brother.

"Are you okay? Zac?" he asked, looking at his frightened brother.

Tears fell down Zac's face. "I had a nightmare... we were on the plane, and it was stormy... Lightening, and thunder everywhere..."

Isaac shushed his brother and held him.

Katriona's eyes narrowed. Had he seen what she had?

As if in answer, Zac pulled away from his brother and stared at her. "I saw. You did this. I know why you're doing this."

Katriona gulped and nodded.

Isaac grew bewildered.

Zac just stared at Katriona. "I know why you've done this. I know it all. Lucinda and everything."

Katriona nodded numbly, shocked.

---

Taylor looked up and saw his brothers and the girl standing face to face.

Getting up slowly, he took his chance...

---

"Maybe now you'll see-" she began, but stopped as a blur came at her with hard force. She fell to the floor and felt her head wrenched back as Taylor pulled her hair.

The wig came out painfully, and she cried out loudly.

He dug a knee into her chest painfully.

"That's for Zac." he said, teeth clenched.

---

"Taylor! Stop!" Zac cried.

---

She tried to draw breath, but couldn't. She felt dizzy.

No, Taylor. Don't. she begged silently.

Taylor paused, and chills ran up his spine again. Just like when he had looked at the plane tickets.

She could see Zac out of the corner of her eye, trying to pull Tay off of her.

Zac... please?

---

Zac pulled harder on Taylor. "Get off of her!"

Zac turned to Ike. "Ike, please! Help me get him off! He's killing her!"

---

Isaac took one glance at his tearful brother and nodded. They both pulled Taylor off the girl, and held him back.

"No! Let me go!" Taylor yelled.

Zac let Ike keep Tay as he ran over to get to Katriona. "Katriona! Please!" he begged, holding the silent girl.
